SOASC Programmes, Activities Improve Students' Potential

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Sultan Omar Ali Saiffudien College SOASC) yesterday held a Parent-Teacher Conference at the college's main auditorium to brief the parents on the upcoming programmes and activities of the school.

Principal of the school, Pg Hj Zahari Pg Hj Ahmed in his speech said that SOASC's results had exceeded the expectations and it was all due to the hard work and dedication of the teachers, students and parents.

The college's ranking in the school's performance board has risen dramatically, partially due to the activities and programmes being implemented by the school's administration to help the students achieve their potentials.

During the briefing, the principal said that the good performance of the students was well received by the school's administration and was pleased with the outcome. Parents of children who were enrolled in the programme saw visible changes in their child's attitude towards learning even at home. The change of attitude was one of the first step for students to reach their academic potentials.

Pg Hj Zahari also said that some of the activities and programmes being implemented were such as tuitions, night classes, motivational programmes such as NLP and critical thinking, as well as motivational camps, where students spend their nights camping at the school's ground.

For the past years, SOASC had enrolled on a dynamic motivational and teaching programmes, aiming at the student's mental ability to cope with the upcoming pressure of exams. During the programmes, students were given various exam preparations, as well as a series of motivational tools and critical thinking techniques to assist them in their studies. The programmes not only helped the students to study but also helped the students to get to know each other and encouraged studying in groups, where they can learned from their peers as well as their teachers. Students strong in certain subjects were able to help their friends. The students were able to help each other not only in the exercises and team-building activities but also in academics as well.
